I am a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy maintaining a private practice in Riverside, California.
I have been providing quality care for individuals and families of various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds including children, adolescents and adults for over 20 years. I am a graduate of National University with a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I received my Bachelors degree in psychology from San Diego State University where I graduated with distinction. I am currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients.
In addition to seeing clients in my private practice, I have presented at various conferences and to general audiences speaking on topics such as: Building Healthy Marriages, Strengthening Family Bonds, Stress Management and Women's Issues.
I am an interactive, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is based on a belief that human beings have within them the potential and capability to modify and change their behavior and thought patterns. It is most often pain and discomfort that motivates change. It is my goal to assist my clients in cultivating change, reducing the pain and discomfort resulting from unhealthy behavior and embracing new behavior moving toward a healthier lifestyle. My treatment approach involves treating the "whole" person therefore consideration is given to my client's emotional, mental, physical, spiritual and relational health. I provide support and practical feedback to help my clients effectively set realistic goals to address personal life challenges. I integrate various methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
I know from personal experience the reward of dedicating oneself to the work it takes to have a healthy marriage. I have been married for over 35 years and I enjoy a rich meaningful relationship with my high school sweetheart. My husband and I have experienced the parenting journey through the privilege of raising a son and we now enjoy a rich relationship with our son and our daughter-in-law.
I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapist.
